The support staff at Marketplace Animal Hospital is made up of a wonderful team of
Receptionists, Veterinary Assistants, and Registered Veterinary Technicians.
Receptionists
Erika
Erika joined our team in 2015. She spends most of her free time with her kids but loves weekends with friends at the winery. She enjoys cheering on her local sports teams as well as her kids’ baseball and volleyball teams. Erika has an adorable mini australian shepherd named Blu and her very first cat, Simba, a Siamese mix.
GUILTY PLEASURES:
White cheddar Cheetos, blasting country music, and shopping for shoes
Cindy
Cindy joined our team in 2023. She was born and raised in Denver, CO but moved to Kansas in 2019 to be closer to her mom and brothers. Cindy loves spending time with her husband and kids. She has a chihuahua mix named Aspen.

Traveling, Starbucks, HomeGoods, and Target
Gina
Gina joined Marketplace in 2025. She obtained an associates degree in veterinary technology in 2015 and has worked in emergency, rescue, and general practice clinics. Gina enjoys working with pet owners just as much as the pets, so she transitioned from a technician role to a receptionist. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Noodle and Sir Blue (aka Boobers), and her 6-year-old grandson.
GUILTY PLEASURES: Spending money on her grandson, donuts, and crocheting.
Bex
Bex joined our team in 2021. Originally from Pennsylvania, he made the long drive down to Kansas in 2020 searching for independence. He loves spending time with his partner and their first time cat, Alcor. When not at work, you can catch Bex at the park watching the local wildlife.

Haylee
Haylee joined our team in 2020. She has a degree in Wildlife Ecology and loves working with animals. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. When she is not at work, she is with her dog, Mario and her cat, Coco.

Klaire
Klaire has been with us since 2024. She is currently working towards a degree in Urban Planning and Design. She has a three year old German Shepherd named Mira Belle. Outside of work, Klaire enjoys traveling, cooking, and being outdoors.

Jenny
Jenny joined our team in 2025. She is originally from Iowa, but moved to Kansas in 2002 from Northern California. Jenny previously worked in the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty field for many years. Jenny enjoys wildlife, traveling, cooking, and spending time outdoors. She has 5 Irish wolfhounds (Jackson, Keeper, Connor, Sidney, and Albert) and 2 orange tabby's (Jeffery and Joseph).

Cory
Cory joined our team in 2022. He grew up in Shawnee and attended K-State University. Cory has 2 cats: Twilight and Eclipse and a Rat Terrier named Bambi.

Shannon
Shannon joined our team in 2022. She graduated with a Maple Woods Veterinary Assistant Certificate in 2017. Shannon spent her first 5 years working in a orthopedic and soft tissue surgery setting before making the move to general practice. She lives with her son, golden retriever, Tater Tot, and cat named Cap’n Sushi. Shannon spends her time reading, working with different mediums of art, and gets out into nature with her paddle board as often as possible. She and her son love to travel the country over summer breaks as well.

Nichole
Nichole joined our team in 2024. She grew up in Georgia with her parents and three siblings. She started working in the animal health industry in 2019 as a kennel technician. At home, Nichole has 3 wonderful fur children - 2 dogs named William and Jericho, and a cat named Copa Cabana. When she's not spending time with her animals, Nichole loves to be outside reading or paddleboarding.

Gabrielle
Gabrielle joined our team in early 2026. She was born and raised in Kansas with her
parents, two younger siblings, and three spoiled dogs. Gabi is obsessed with her dog
daughter Jynx. You can often find them hiking local trails, swimming at the lake, or
practicing agility skills. Gabrielle began working in the animal care industry in 2021,
specializing in canine physical therapy. She is currently attending college with plans of
furthering her education within the veterinary field.
GUILTY PLEASURES: Live music, antique thrifting, and all sorts of arts and crafts
Connor
Connor joined our team in 2023 working on breaks from school since then. He was born and raised in Johnson County. he earned his associate’s degree in pre-vet med from Pratt Community College and his bachelor’s degree in health science from Friends University. Connor was a collegiate athlete, and competed on the tennis team throughout his undergraduate career. He plans to attend veterinary school at Kansas State University in the fall of 2026. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys tennis, golf, weight lifting, video games, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. At home, Connor has three cats, Ronald, Harold, and Coolio who keep him entertained.

Alex
Alex joined our team in 2021. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and thrifting. Alex currently resides in KC and her 3 year old rescued black lab, Leon, is her whole world. She has been caring for animals in a professional setting for the past 4 years and has dreams of opening her own nonprofit rescue one day.

Olivia
Olivia joined our team in 2023. She was born in Springfield, Missouri but has grown up in Johnson County. She loves reading, spending time with friends and family, thrifting, and doing anything involving the outdoors. Olivia has a passion for caring for animals, and hopes to go on to school to become a veterinary technician. She has two dogs, Staley and Theo, and her rescued fur baby cat, Walter.

Carmen
Carmen joined our team in 2024. Carmen grew up in a small town in southwest Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with her bachelor's in Wildlife Biology and Fisheries Conservation. Her passion for animals ranges from wildlife, exotics, to pets. She's worked many animal care jobs - from being a Carnivore Keeper at the Rolling Hills Zoo and Canine Care Technician at Wayside Waifs! Carmen decided to further her knowledge and passion for all critters by getting into vet med! Outside of work you can usually find her hanging out with her cats, Meatball and Miso!

Megan
Megan joined our team in 2024. She has worked in veterinary medicine since 2021, starting as a kennel technician. She went to Johnson County Community College to receive her associates degree. She has a passion for horses, riding for 17 years and competing for 8. In her free time she loves to cook, travel, watch movies, be with her twin sister, and spend time with her friends and boyfriend. At home Megan has a dog, Lexi, and a cat, Ivy, who is the center of her world.

Kelsey
Kelsey joined our team in 2026. She grew up in Olathe, KS and has worked with animals since 2021, gaining experience with both horses and dogs. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys exploring hiking trails and spending quality time with her cat, Pickles.

Erin
Erin joined our team in 2022. She worked for 7 years in emergency and critical care medicine. Erin graduated from the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program in 2016 and has loved animals her whole life. She currently has 2 dogs she adopted from her school program, Agent and Classified. Erin loves hanging out with her friends and family and renovating her house in her off time.
GUILTY PLEASURES: Pasta, buying more books before reading the books she has, and crocheting
Topher
Topher joined our team in 2024. He is Kansas born and raised, living in the state his entire life. Topher’s first ever job was with Marketplace back in 2010. In 2014 he left to get his Bachelor’s in Animal Sciences at Kansas State University and then his Associate’s in Veterinary Technology at Maple Woods, passing his licensing exam in 2018. Since then he has worked a few years in general practice, 5 years in nutritional research and still currently works part time in emergency medicine. In his spare time, he loves gaming, hiking, and fishing. He has three dogs, Bellatrix, Adeline and Finnley and a loving husband, Marcos.

Jaime
Jaime joined our team in 2020. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, has lived in Kansas, Maryland, and Oklahoma, and re-settled in Kansas with husband Jeff and their 3 children in 2012. Jaime graduated from Penn State University, then became a RVT after studying at Tulsa Community College. She is a foster volunteer for Wayside Waifs. Jaime currently has one WW “foster fail” dog, Dobby, two adorable grand dogs, Larry and Indie, and a new schnauzer rescue, Queenie.

Naomi
Naomi joined our team in 2025. She moved to the KC-metro area in 2015, has worked in the veterinary field since 2020, and graduated from Maple Woods Veterinary Technology in 2025. She enjoys spending time with her cat, Cleo, and her dogs Scout, Flora, and Fern. She’s passionate about gardening and indoor plants, bird watching, and collecting mugs.

Nicole
Nicole joined our team in 2025. She was born in Germany but grew up in Iowa. She received a bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University and her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster. She started her career in shelter medicine and has worked for several years in private practice. Rescue mutts and rescue cats are her favorite breeds. She spends most of her free time hanging out with her husband and their pack of cats and dogs. GUILTY PLEASURES: Puzzles, chocolate and anything football related
Veterinary Technician
Brittany
Brittany joined our team in 2022 and graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2014 with an Associates degree in Animal Science. She has worked in the animal field since she was 15 and has previously worked in shelter, holistic, and Emergency/ICU medicine. When not working, Brittany enjoys going to the lake kayaking, riding jet-ski’s or off on an outdoor adventure with her son and dogs Wally and Jojo. She also loves spending time at the ranch riding horses, cooking and being creative with crafts and DIY projects for the house.

Office Manager
Julie
Julie joined our team in 1997. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician but primarily works behind the scenes in the office. Julie loves to travel anyplace warm and especially enjoys being at the beach. She spends most of her free time with friends and family and would be a crazy cat lady if her husband did not limit the household to 3 cats.
